The Data Essentials Training Curriculum

In this first module, you will start with the fundamentals of Data Analysis and Business Intelligence with the use of Data Visualisation tools such as Tableau to analyse your database and render your results in an accessible and relevant way. We will introduce the Data project that you will carry out throughout the course!
SQL is the language you will use to manipulate databases. It is an essential tool to master for anyone who wants to get into data analysis. Therefore, you will practice in depth all types of SQL queries. You will see the different types of databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or SQL Servers that you will learn to manipulate on Google Cloud Platform.
Data Analysis means statistics! In this module, we will cover the fundamental principles of the field in order to carry out more advanced descriptive analyses . You will also learn Python programming because modern statistical studies are done with this language. You will use the main libraries like Pandas and Numpy. Nowadays, most data in companies comes from the web. This is why it is important that you master the principles of A/B Testing. You will learn how to build and compare representative samples for web content optimisation.
Discover this field of Artificial Intelligence:, Machine Learning. You will learn how to build classification and regression models in Python and evaluate them to make predictions. At the end of the module, you will be able to build decision trees and even random tree forests to make fine-grained predictions on complex data sets.
On the theme of your choice, you will carry out predictive analysis using Machine Learning algorithms in Python. With the Data Visualisation tools seen during the course, you will make a final report on the SQL analysis you wish to perform. I often manage or interact with technical teams, but I would like to understand them better...

I would like to become more efficient in my current job with technical skills

I would like to be assigned more technical tasks in my current position

I want to move into a fully technical position, such as Data Analyst, or Business Analyst

What Our Past Students Say

It is the diversity of our community's profiles that makes it so rich. In 70 hours of training, they were able to type their first lines of code, manage their first databases, and code their first Machine Learning algorithms.

The number of exercises really help us to put the lessons into practice and become comfortable with the tools very quickly! The teachers were also always available to keep up the pace.

Even though it is a non-profit organization, TED is still a business with investors who want to see returns on the numbers. What we notice is that now TED Talks have become "Hype" events. So the question is: Can we predict the success of a Ted Talk?
Toanswer the question, Rossana has created a set of visualisations to draw conclusions from the most successful Ted Talk features on the internet.
Gwénaëlle Breton

In sport, knowing in advance how an athlete will perform has several objectives: budget management, equipment management, margin of progression for certain athletes. This is the project Gwénaëlle is working on: predicting the success of an athlete in a body building event.
Gwénaëlle has created a Machine Learning model: a linear regression (to predict a performance in kilograms) with multiple variables (weight, age, sex, etc.).
Gabriel Ropers
Paris Campus
It's something we'd all like to brag about: discovering an unknown song and predicting to those around you that it is going to be a hit, well with Data Science, you'll have the evidence to back it up! To do this, Gabriel used a dataset of no less than 116,000 songs, populated with 17 of their characteristics (duration, loudness, tempo, style etc). Since Gabriel is trying to predict whether a song will be a hit or not, he will use a logistic regression model.
